After the abrupt cancellation of the upcoming Black Panther game, fans are rightly annoyed and upset over what could have been.

This is exacerbated by the leak of concept art that has made its way onto Twitter, and shows that the potential story would have featured T’Challa’s son, Azari, and a battle against the Skrulls.

With this revealed, it has frustrated plenty of fans who were looking forward to more enjoyment from a brilliant character and world.

Over on Reddit, users are debating the ups and downs of this cancellation, with most feeling aggrieved that yet another game has been cast aside.

After hearing that Black Panther would have been an open world game set in Wakanda, several people are angry.

“Seriously, just exploring Wakanda on its own would be rad,” said yesthatstrueorisit.

Another Redditor comments, “Unbelievable, man... It's like they're allergic to make something good, every time they seem to have something good coming up, they cancel it.”

This isn’t the only superhero game to be cancelled recently, as Warner Bros put a stop to development on Wonder Woman in recent months.

Though many are saying that Disney likely had a hand in this, as they want to control the profits of the IP, it doesn’t stop fans of Black Panther being annoyed.

“Looks really cool and promising. Of course, they cancelled it,” said one exasperated user.

“Can I offer you another soccer or car game in this trying time?” joked kodan_arma.

There is talk within the thread that perhaps it was cancelled due to Disney wanting to protect Chadwick Boseman’s legacy after the Black Panther actor passed away.

Whether this is true or not, it still means developers are out of work, and we have one less game to play.

As this Redditor puts it, “This looked so cool and probably would've been a big hit, so naturally EA had to cancel it, what a bunch of idiots.”
