The next big title from one of Uncharted’s creative leads has run into another delay, but you may have missed this news, considering it dropped directly after that other, much more high-profile delay announcement…
Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer behind Naughty Dog’s first three Uncharted games, has been having a bit of a rough go of things over the past decade.
Following her departure from Naughty Dog back in 2014, Hennig joined Electronic Arts' developer Visceral Games to work on a new, exciting Star Wars game, titled "Project Ragtag".
Visceral Games would ultimately be shut down by EA in 2017, and Project Ragtag was delayed… and then eventually outright cancelled.

From there, Hennig worked on the story concept for the 2023 title Forspoken, which ended up receiving a lukewarm reception from critics and an even worse reception from general audiences.
These days, Hennig is working at Skydance New Media, a relatively young developer under the umbrella of Skydance Media, a subsidiary of Paramount Pictures. It was announced in 2021 that she’ll be producing and writing their first big project: the Skydance/Marvel Games collaboration, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Unfortunately, the unlucky streak hasn’t ended there. After originally being slated for a late 2025 release date, Skydance announced earlier this year that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was being pushed back to an “early 2026” release.
That was back in May. Last night, the project was hit with a second delay announcement, as Skydance Games announced on Twitter that the game will now be targeting a new, much vaguer release date.
“Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect. To fully realise our vision for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we've made the decision to shift our release window beyond early 2026”, Skydance Games revealed.
“We're grateful for the passion and support from the community and players around the world. The team is working hard to create something truly special, and we look forward to sharing more with you as development progresses.”
There’s a pretty solid chance you missed this news entirely however, as Rockstar Games announced last night that Grand Theft Auto VI has been pushed back to November 19, 2026 (and, naturally, that’s all the internet is talking about at the moment).
No exact word on when Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be dropping, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were originally going to announce that the game was going to be pushed back to late 2026.
I highly doubt they fancy competing with GTA VI for the top spot at the end of 2026, so don’t be surprised if this one ends up coming out in early 2027 instead.
