In a recent interview, Margot Robbie said she is keen to see Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's romance on the silver screen as part of the transformed DCU and accompanying canon.

Batman: The Animated Series set the scene for their eventual relationship, as Harley meets Ivy when she's booted from the Joker's crew and decides to pull off her own heist. The two are such a dastardly duo that they hit it off instantly and this was the first time that viewers had seen a sympathetic side to Ivy. Some episodes after that, Harley and Ivy are living together and the start of a romantic connection is seen when Ivy pays another woman a compliment and Harley is jealous.

To cut a 20 year long story short, the relationship between Harley and Ivy might have only just been realised now but the foundations have been spotted by both the writers and the fans. Now, Robbie would love to see those characters kiss on the silver screen, as per an interview with Comic Book.

"I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I've been pushing for that. I want it too," she said, and added she would be happy to see any actress step into the role opposite her. "Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics. I don't really actually picture an actress doing it, but I agree, that would be so good."

Victoria Pedretti, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jodie Comer, Sydney Sweeney and Jessie Buckley are popular fan casts for the character, and with The Batman sequel on the horizon, it's a possibility that the villain could step into the spotlight soon.
