Love Is Blind contestant convinces date to name children after Elden Ring bosses

One dating show contestant was set on naming his children after Elden Ring characters, although his date wasn't as enthusiastic as him.

How would you make a good first impression on a dating show? I can’t imagine it’s a situation many people will ever find themselves in, but you never know. It’s always good to be prepared.

One of the most important things you’d need to figure out is how you’d manage to subtly bring up your nerdier interests to figure out if your date is on the same page as you. There are plenty of ways to do this - heck, you could just directly ask them if they play video games. However, one contestant on the latest season of Love is Blind took a very different approach - as Dexerto reports, he managed to convince his date to name their future child after an Elden Ring character.

Before we get into it, take a look at some of Elden Ring’s most chaotic mods below.

In case you were unfamiliar, Love is Blind follows the stories of couples who get chatting and engaged to each other within 10 days, before they eventually meet in person. That sounds like a completely unproblematic way to form a long-lasting connection that’s definitely not going to bump into any issues very quickly down the line. Anyway, during an in-person date, Zack Goytowski brought up the idea of baby names with his partner Irina Solomonova, and began to list off a bunch of Elden Ring bosses.

In a clip that’s been going viral on Twitter, Goytowski suggested Godfrey and Godrick, to which Solomonova replied, “Eww, no.” However, she then admitted that she likes the name Gideon, so it looks like he still managed to convince her that one of them would be a good idea - whether she knew that a FromSoftware game inspired his choices is another matter.

Elden Ring fans have been having a field day on Twitter coming up with their own funny alternatives: “Honey did you pick up Magma Wyrm Makar from school? Don’t forget to take Sir Gideon Ofnir to soccer practice!” tweeted @aiikowo. “DRAGONKIN SOLDIER OF NOKSTELLA! TIME FOR DINNER!” wrote @jwminnaard.

In case you were wondering, the couple didn’t end up staying together, although there’s no word on if that’s because of the Elden Ring-themed baby names. In an interview with TODAY, Solomonova said: “I feel like me and Zack weren’t meant to be. It wasn’t anything about his looks, or anything like that, it was more of the sense of feeling this gut feeling that he wasn’t the person for me.”
