The Batman series has made legends in the darkest of places, with fabled actors and talented voices reprising roles in Gotham's troubled times.
One of the longest Batman legends was Kevin Conroy, whose roles in the Arkham game series were only the tip of his wider Bruce Wayne responibilities than spanned almost every animated depiction of the Dark Knight from 1992 to 2022.
Known for popularising the differentiated voice between Wayne and Batman, Conroy was hopeful that he would put on the cape in the voice booth again with more Arkham titles, but sadly passed away in 2022.
For the first time since, Batman is back on his crime-stomping march through Gotham in brick-by-brick form, and players have just found a secret Easter egg that uses Conroy's voice lines.
Hot off the back of a launch worthy of any GOTY contender, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has proved to be a well-built masterpiece.

But it is winning over the hearts of fans by honouring Conroy.
The first, most obvious Easter egg was a billboard titled 'After Hours With Conroy', alluding to a chat show that dubs him as 'The Voice of Gotham's Night.' Befitting.
Having also been named in the credits alongside Adam West, this had fans searching far and wide for his inclusion elsewhere; West is credited due to a voice line addition for the 100% completion phone call, suggesting Conroy's voice could also be heard somewhere.
Now, fans have finally found it.
LEGO Batman has two archival audio lines in the game from Conroy, both within the Arkham facility, playing homage to his roles in that game series.

His voice can be heard upon your first arrival with the Joker, saying," Security alert detected."
The second can be heard when getting into the elevator, where he says, "Elevator is currently experiencing difficulties. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Fans took the theory to social media and YouTube, where it was later confirmed by TT Games' Senior Level Designer, Mike Consalvey.
"I'm glad someone finally discovered the use of Kevin Conroy's voice within the game during the Arkham Asylum level," he said on X.

The gesture is perfect for any of those long-time Batman fans who poured endless hours into the Arkham series, which are considered to be the best superhero games ever made.
That quality continued into LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which epitomises the work of Conroy, whose legacy will be upheld for generations.
Batman is now voiced by actor Shai Matheson, who will take the animated reins while Robert Pattinson gears up for the box office sequel.
