Oh how the mighty have fallen. Chances are, if you’re a fellow internet dweller, you’ve probably at some point come across the existence of Joe Rogan’s podcast. If not, I envy you. The Joe Rogan Experience (or rather, its host) has been flung into the spotlight time and time again over the years thanks to a series of controversies, from giving known conspiracy theorists a platform, to using racial slurs.
Despite all that, there’s obviously an audience for it, as until very recently, it was the top podcast in the US. As you’ll undoubtably have surmised from the headline though, not anymore. As reported by IGN, a new podcast from David S. Goyer has kicked The Joe Rogan Experience from its pedestal, and has surged to number one in many countries around the world.
Spoiler alert, yes, this article is Batman themed. While you're here, be sure to take a look at this incredible deleted scene from The Batman below.
Batman Unburied is a narrative-led podcast, starring Winston Duke as Bruce Wayne, Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Jason Isaacs as Alfred, and more. Its first two episodes aired on 3 May, and it goes without saying that it’s been going down very well.

“A serial killer known as The Harvester terrorises Gotham City, but Batman is not coming to the rescue,” the official description on Spotify reads. “In fact, Bruce Wayne has no memory of being the Caped Crusader at all. Instead, Bruce is a forensic pathologist, performing the autopsy on the latest victim when he’s attacked by the killer himself.
“As Bruce’s obsession with the Harvester consumes him, Dr. Thomas Wayne, head of Gotham City Hospital, orders his son to take medical leave and seek treatment from an unusual psychologist, Dr. Hunter. With Batman missing in action, Detective Barbara Gordon is left with no other choice but to seek help from Gotham’s second smartest detective: The Riddler.”
Goyer, of course, was a writer for the excellent Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (and the slightly less commendable Batman v Superman) so it’s unsurprising that Unburied is a hit. New episodes are set to release every Tuesday, so be sure to check it out if you’re interested.
