Oh god, it’s here. The trailer for Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie has certainly taken the internet by storm. The cast features Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser but it’s Chris Pratt’s casting as Mario that’s set the internet alight.

Last year, the internet responded to the news with memes a plenty - and you can check out some of our favourites here. Thanks to yesterday’s trailer, we’ve now heard Pratt’s take on Mario’s voice and guess what? The memes keep on coming, but the real star of the trailer? That’s got to be Jack Black’s Bowser.

Take a look at the trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie below.

Jack Black was born to play Bowser. It’s a statement I never thought I’d say but I’m saying it now. Not only did he steal the show in The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer, he was the main attraction of yesterday's New York Comic Con. As reported by IGN, Black launched a Koopa backpack into the crowd to the sound of erupted screams before offering up a sample of his Bowser voice whilst sat atop a throne. Take a look below.

You won’t be shocked when I say that the internet reactions to this whole thing are strong. Very strong indeed. There’s a worrying amount of Bowser thirst, but it makes for top tier entertainment so here is my Friday gift to you. Enjoy these Bowser reactions.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie releases on 7 April, 2023, and I actually cannot wait.
