Halo: Infinite has had a rocky few months. 343 Industries’ latest effort launched without co-op play much to everyone’s dismay. The game is currently in its second season and online co-op is still several months away and even then, split screen co-op continues to lack a release window.
Needless to say, fans have been less than impressed but 343 Industries are working hard to try and get Halo: Infinite to reach its potential. In the meantime, I have just the thing to tide you over as a brand new Halo level has recently launched for free, and it’s been built in Unreal Engine 5. Ooo shiny.
Did you know Halo: Infinite had a very important pug working behind the scenes to make the game possible? Check out the adorable footage below.
The Zeta Halo Experience is a fully-working fan project launched by creator Infinite Forges. Available to download now, Zeta Halo is an explorable Halo-inspired desert biome and as we’ve come to expect from Unreal Engine 5 projects, it looks incredible.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the project, Infinite Forges said, “The story behind the level [is that] in an undisclosed location on Zeta Halo, Chief has been sent to search the ring spine now visible due to the ring's destruction, in hopes of discovering [more] about this ancient alien tech. This is my second of many fully explorable levels and I'm excited to put it in your hands.”
Fans were quick to jump into the comments, commending the creation. Danny GG wrote, “This man out here making more Halo content than 343 [have] since the game came out,” while Nero Pho3nix said, “Goosebumps! You should definitely have more attention and I hope that 343 is inspired by you.”
They’re right. Someone at 343 Industries needs to hire this guy now because this environment is everything I wanted from Halo: Infinite. It truly makes the world of Halo feel alive. Pretty please, 343.
