Back in March 2023, beloved actor Lance Reddick suddenly passed away. In fact, it was believed that he was playing Destiny 2 the night before he left. For many, Lance was perhaps most well known as Charon, the manager of the Continental Hotel in the John Wick movie franchise.

He was also a cherished member of the video game community, not only playing the iconic role of Commander Zavala in Destiny but also the devious Sylens in the Horizon series.

This week the highly anticipated launch of the Burning Shores arrived to high critical acclaim and much fanfare. It was also a sombre moment, as fans knew this would be the last time we’d see Lance Reddick play Sylens.

As reported by GamesRadar, fans have been paying tribute to the charismatic actor on Reddit. Though as a warning, some of the comments in the thread contain spoilers, but I’ll do my best to keep them to a minimum here.

“His final words in the epilogue hit me hard,” said Both_Magician_4655. “Me, too. I got goosebumps and teared up a little. That's an amazing cinematic,” replied de_naughty_pijp. However, as Redditor ahdnfoskajfbf reminds us: “Sylens cannot be trusted.

In our review of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, our Kate said it’s: “a true elevation of everything that made Forbidden West great, against a backdrop of the franchise’s best storytelling to date.

“If Horizon 3 is anything like Burning Shores, we’re in for a real treat - and yet we know that Guerrilla continue to step up their game with each new release. If Burning Shores has taken the franchise to soaring new heights, I cannot wait for the next instalment in Aloy’s journey to take us to the stars and beyond.”
