Harry Potter fans around the world are absolutely desperate to learn more about Hogwarts Legacy. How does it play? What exciting gameplay features can we expect? When will the damn thing launch?
Fortunately, it's looking increasingly likely that those answers are coming soon, starting with the fact that 2022 is almost certainly the year of Hogwarts Legacy.
Last month Warner Bros. swiftly debunked the rumours that Hogwarts Legacy would be delayed into 2023, providing fans with fresh hope. Now, Twitter user AccountNGT, who previously leaked Star Wars: Eclipse and shot down the Hogwarts Legacy delay rumours before Warner Bros., has provided an update.
AccountNGT claims that Hogwarts Legacy will release in September this year. Just a few weeks ago the leaker suggested the game was on track for a Q3 launch, would be anywhere between July and September. It's worth noting that the game could yet be delayed a little further into the year, but given Warner Bros.' insistence that it's coming in 2022, this is a good sign.
The leaker also suggests that we'll finally be seeing a new gameplay trailer, either this month or at some point in March as part of the rumoured PlayStation event. Given that the game was originally unveiled at a PlayStation show, it'd make sense for its big gameplay debut to follow suit.
As for what, exactly, will be in the trailer? AccountNGT seems fairly confident we can expect to see a greater focus on the skills, abilities, and general RPG-style progression of Hogwarts Legacy. Given all we've seen so far is a brief CG trailer, I'll happily take whatever crumbs Warner Bros. decides to throw my way.
As always, do take these rumours with a pinch of salt until we hear something official. We'll be sure to let you know just as soon as we hear more about Hogwarts Legacy.
