A Hogwarts Legacy player discovers an easter egg for the movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, that’s been hiding in plain sight for over three years.
The Harry Potter franchise is huge, and that’s an understatement.
Whether it’s the original novels or the live-action movie adaptations from Warner Bros. Pictures, or the upcoming reboot from HBO, there’s plenty of Wizarding World goodness to enjoy.
That being said, there are also plenty of Harry Potter-inspired video games to experience, whether it's from the original PlayStation games, the fantastic LEGO collection or with today’s topic of discussion, Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 and instantly became the dream Harry Potter game for fans. Set in the 1890s, you enrol at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the fifth academic year, to the surprise of professors and students alike.
Without giving story spoilers away, the campaign tales keep players hooked from start to finish, it has a plethora of charming (and not-so charming) NPCs to interact with, and exploring Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding areas, such as Hogsmeade Village, is an absolute joy.
As brought to our attention by Comicbook.com, three years after the launch of Hogwarts Legacy, Reddit user Matthew_Burke_09 discovered a location that looks suspiciously like the Horcrux Cave from the 2009 movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
“Randomly found a cliff that's nearly identical to the Horcrux Cave from HBP,” revealed the Redditor in question.
“The cave-like opening in the cliff is not actually a cave, but I still thought it looked really identical to the cave from the movie.”
“I wish you could go in there,” replied KptnHaddock, alluding to the fact that this area isn't reachable. Though I’m sure out-of-bounds shenanigans might say otherwise.
Naturally, fans were asking where we can find this location that looks to be an obvious inspiration for the Horcrux Cave, and Matthew_Burke_09 was more than happy to provide the location.
“Where my player is currently standing on the map is the exact location where you can find the small island to stand on, and the placemark shows the cave-like opening itself. You're welcome!” they replied.
