Hogwarts Legacy fans united over Diagon Alley expansion

"Diagonally!"

In a surprise turn of events, last Friday saw Avalanche Software reveal that it has not only been working on Hogwarts Legacy 2 but also an expanded version of Hogwarts Legacy itself.

There is no denying that content has been pretty scarce when it comes to 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy.

With just a few small updates here and there which provided nothing other than a Photo Mode and some extra cosmetics, fans have been calling out for DLCs and expansions in an effort to make the Harry Potter-inspired RPG feel even more alive.

Luckily, their prayers have seemingly been answered as Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. have been hard at work on developing both a sequel and an expanded world for the first game.

Although there are no further details about what an expanded edition may entail, or most importantly, where it will take us across the wizarding world, fans have already come together to share their thoughts following the exciting news.

Taking to r/xbox, a discussion kicked off over the weekend about the upcoming expansion.

“I hope the DLC takes us away from Hogwarts. Some other cool place in the wizarding world would be cool,” one user said.

To which CyanideIE replied, “Diagon Alley would be cool. I hope that they do a different school for the sequels.”

With Diagon Alley not featuring in Hogwarts Legacy despite being quite a crucial setting in the books and movies, it would make sense for the sequel or expanded edition to head to the magical version of a shopping centre.

Not only that but with the majority of the events of Hogwarts Legacy taking place in or around Hogwarts, many fans would like to see more of the outside world.

“Hogwarts fell off HARD as soon as I left the school grounds,” user brokenmessiah said.

“So either they need to just expand more on the school grounds and, IMO, the school sim aspect of it and just not even bother with an outside area OR they need to make the outside areas worth a damn.”

It remains to be seen where Hogwarts Legacy 2 will take us but thanks to the hit book series that it is based on, the team will have no shortage of inspiration.
