The Witcher 3’s hardest difficulty is reportedly too much for Henry Cavill, though he’s not giving up yet.

It’s not a secret Henry Cavill absolutely loves The Witcher. He’s read the books, played the games, and starred as the grumpy Geralt in the live-action Netflix series for three seasons, soon to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth following his departure.

Take a look at The Witcher 3 below.

His admiration for the series began when he first played The Witcher 3, often regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. Cavill has played the game more times than he can count, becoming a bit of an expert on the story and lore, though he says his playthroughs always end with Geralt on Team Yennefer as in his mind, she’s his one true love.

However, for all his countless playthroughs, he’s reportedly never managed to beat the game on the hardest difficulty, Death March.

During a livestream called “Tales from the White Wolf: A Conversation With Henry Cavill,” the star confirmed that he’s beaten the game quite a few times on the second hardest difficulty, Blood and Broken Bones, but hasn’t been skilled enough to tackle the level above.

Cavill confessed it took him “three goes to get past the Ghouls in the beginning," and he was “not impressed” with his overall performance. When you’re Geralt himself and struggle against some average ghouls, it’s bound to lower your self-esteem a little bit right?

Overall, he called the Death March difficulty the “not fun way to play the game," but is determined to beat it eventually after he’s refined his skills a bit more with another Blood and Broken Bones playthrough.

Henry Cavill has officially moved on from The Witcher live-action series, and will not be reprising his role for season four, much to the frustration of fans who called him the only saving grace of the disappointing adaptation.
