Halo 2 & Halo 3 Remakes Seemingly Coming After Campaign Evolved

The whole trilogy is coming, apparently.

Following the mixed reception regarding the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved reveal, full remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3 are also allegedly planned.

Halo: Campaign Evolved was announced earlier this year, and fans felt rather divided on the reveal.

The lack of competitive multiplayer, plus new additions like a sprint button and redesigned levels, has been the cause of controversy regarding Halo’s debut on PlayStation consoles.

According to a new report by reputable insider Rebs Gaming, Halo Studios is also planning remakes of the second and third games in the trilogy following the release of Campaign Evolved.

Rumours regarding Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes have circulated before earlier in the year from different sources, but Rebs Gaming tends to be more reliable regarding Halo information.

The insider now suggests that Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are in development based on an interview with “a former developer”.

Halo 2 And Halo 3 Remakes Could Feature The Same Changes As Campaign Evolved

“I believe that Halo Studios is going to remake the original Halo games,” Rebs Gaming states in a new video.

“Recently I reached out to a former Halo Studios developer about the rumour,” Rebs Gaming added. “They told me that Halo Studios is in fact remaking the original Halo games, but they aren’t willing to share any details yet due to their non-disclosure agreement.”

Rebs Gaming also reached out to a source asking why Halo Studios may be remaking Halo games as opposed to creating new experiences.

They were told that this is due to Halo Studios wanting to play it safe with the franchise, and instead of releasing a new title that may be criticised by long-time Halo fans, the developer has decided to release remakes of the original trilogy which was very popular.

If these reports are to be believed, it’s certain that Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes will take the same liberties with the original text as Campaign Evolved is. That means redesigning levels, adding new stages, featuring modern graphics, and possibly adding a sprint button as well.

This correlates with the rumours from earlier this year, which also suggested that Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are coming with a sprint button.

The rumour also said that the original competitive multiplayer from the Halo trilogy titles won’t be included, with a planned Halo 7 instead acting as the multiplayer component for these games.
