Halo: Campaign Evolved has officially launched for everyone, meaning those who didn’t purchase the early-access edition can finally land on the new-and-improved Alpha Halo.
It’s not been everyone’s cup of tea unfortunately and we partly admitted as much in our review, with our main criticism being the underwhelming prequel missions.
However the main game is solid, and earned itself an Exceptional score of 9/10 in our books.

One of the more controversial additions to the Halo: Combat Evolved remake is weapon and armour skins. A collection was made available to those who bought the Deluxe edition, but the following freebies are available for everyone and don’t look half-bad.
The first is the Hidden Blade skin. This is the most complex redemption out of the bunch, but it’s still really easy. All you need to do is log into Discord and watch the Halo: Campaign Evolved trailer on the Quests page. Once you’ve done that it’ll give you a code to redeem on Halo Waypoint. Simple, and the armour looks pretty sleek too.
Even simpler is the Silver Anniversary skin. As the name implies this is Chief’s Mark V Mjolnir in silver rather than green, with blue highlights as a nod to Forerunner technology. You don’t even need to claim this one, it can be found straight away in the Customisation tab.
The Sandstone Ancient skin isn’t our vibe to be honest. Something about the orange just doesn’t appeal, but if you want it simply redeem the following code on Halo Waypoint: L563-J46G-PZN1-SBF2-AXN6.
Last, but certainly not least, we have the Damascus Prototype skin. This is a gorgeous cosmetic that pays homage to the early days of Xbox. It’s got a gorgeous, green glow to it that’s meant to look a little transparent, like the OG Crystal Green Xbox sold back in the day. For this one, simply type the following code into Halo Waypoint: GWT9-DNBT-7X9S-DJCX-8KH3.

Those are all of the free skins available at the moment, but we’re expecting more to be added as time goes on. Some free weapon skins also feel inevitable.
None of these skins are as good as the classic 2001 skin you’ll find in the Deluxe edition, but Hidden Blade and Damascus Prototype are definitely stylish enough to be worth claiming.
To celebrate the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved and the wider anniversary of Halo, Xbox has done a special collaboration with Lamborghini of all companies, to create a special variant of the Lamborghini Urus.
Some fabulous prizes are up for grabs as part of a new promotion, but all fans will be able to claim a new Master Chief 117 Edition Livery for Forza Horizon 6 later this week.
It’s been nice to see Halo back in such a big way, and hopefully this is just the jumpstart it needed to become Xbox’s top-performer again.
