GTA 6 fans marking their calendars for 27 December, sigh

GTA VI fans are marking their calendars and this time, they really believe that a new trailer will be released before 2025.

I think most of us are expecting Rockstar Games to drop GTA VI's trailer two at any point. Yet, it’s now gone well over a year since the first trailer was released on 4 December 2023, which sent social media into a meltdown.

Truth be told, it’s very likely that Rockstar Games could drop the highly anticipated second GTA VI trailer as an early Christmas or New Year present. Only time will tell.

That being said, Grand Theft Auto fans are convinced that the next trailer will drop on 27 December 2024 and to be fair, they have one of the better theories as to why that might happen.

“The 27th video on the Rockstar Games channel has Jason in the title,” said Redditor FireFarq, kicking off the speculation on the thread. This is why fans believe trailer two will be released on this date.

I’ve just checked the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and I can confirm that the name “Jason” does appear in the title of its 27th video called “Beaterator Sessions: Jason”.

Along with Lucia, Jason is the second protagonist or antagonist of GTA VI, depending on the perspective when the game is finally released.

“27th Rockstar video, with the name Jason in the title,” said Ray_diant commenting directly on the video in question, with Bryce adding, “Lucky number 27, this could be the most incredible marketing of all time, or just an incredibly unlikely coincidence.”

The comments section of the YouTube video is flooded with similar theories as is the Reddit thread with Affectionate-Bus-818 saying, “The number, Jason. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?”

We’ll just have to wait and see if GTA VI trailer two drops on 27 December 2024 and if it does, we’ll be sure to update you straight away, as we will do anytime the trailer is released.

At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A release date for the inevitable PC version has not been revealed by Rockstar Games yet.
