GTA 6 trailer 2 just broke an unfortunate record

500 days of sour

GTA 6 fans have spotted that the long-awaited Trailer 2 may have just broken an unfortunate record.

We're all waiting for Rockstar Games to drop that second trailer into our laps. The first trailer for GTA 6 was released way back in December 2023, and since then, it's been only crumbs of information.

Despite the lack of new information though, it hasn't stopped certain fans from digging deep into whatever they can to unearth information about it.

We know Rockstar is planning on releasing GTA 6 sometime in 2025, but a potential release hasn't been confirmed yet. Nor has a second trailer, or even screenshots, to tide us over.

GTA 6 Trailer 1 was released back in 2023, with no sign of Trailer 2.

Now, fans are pointing out that GTA 6 has broken an unfortunate record for the longest a Rockstar game has gone between releasing the first trailer and screenshots.

Posting on Reddit, it's been pointed out that there were 253 days between GTA 5's first trailer and screenshots being released. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 had only 214 days between the first trailer and screenshots.

The post shows that it's now been 500 days since the GTA 6 trailer 1 was released, meaning the game has now broken an unfortunate record for the longest pre-launch period of a Rockstar game without any new marketing.

And when it comes to release dates, there's roughly a two-year period between the release of the first trailer and the eventual release of the game.

GTA 5's Trailer 1 first released on 2nd November, 2011, and the game ended up releasing on 17th September, 2013. That gives a result of 685 days, or just under two years.

Meanwhile, a total of 736 days happened between Red Dead Redemption 2's first trailer and its release date, almost a week over two years.

If the same trend were to happen here, we shouldn't expect a release date for GTA 6 until we get close to December.

Still, with us now being in the same year as the potential GTA 6 release, here's hoping it's not long to go until Rockstar releases some new information about the game.
