According to US retailer Best Buy, Grand Theft Auto VI should be available for pre-order in just four days time.
It’s no secret that the world is preparing for GTA VI to drop its third trailer and officially open pre-orders.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick teased that marketing for GTA VI would kick off soon, and we are roughly six months away from the game’s 19 November launch.
Already, Rockstar Games has begun responding to fans on social media after a hiatus of several years, with PlayStation having issued emails to PS4 users suggesting they upgrade now if they want to play GTA VI.

Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call is next week on 21 May so the consensus has been for some time that we should get an update before or near to that date.
Well, according to US-based retailer Best Buy, GTA VI pre-orders should be available by 18 May.
YouTuber Frogboyx1Gaming reportedly received an affiliate email from Best Buy which referenced “GTA 6 Pre-Order (Physical Game)” with the affiliate promotional window running from 18 to 21 May with 5% commission.
Essentially, that would allow Frogboyx1Gaming to share a purchase link for GTA VI with his followers, with the YouTuber able to earn 5% commission between those two dates.
Admittedly, it seems quite surprising that Best Buy would let the cat out of the bag like this, but the email does seem pretty legit.
Popular online internet users from across various social media sites and forums have all reported receiving the very same email.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that GTA VI’s pre-orders won’t land before 18 May.
Companies might not want to split earnings with affiliates in the first few days of pre-order availability, so you shouldn’t take this to mean that we’re completely safe until Monday.
In fact, there’s additional evidence pointing to today being quite significant.
Typically, due to the time difference, Rockstar Games posts to Chinese social media site BilliBilli several hours ahead before it makes its worldwide posts on Twitter/X.
Yesterday, for example, it was known hours before Red Dead Online was tweeted about on X that that’s what the post would be thanks to it appearing on BilliBilli earlier that day.
Today, Rockstar Games has skipped its usual posting slot on BilliBilli, leading many to assume that it’s actually today that trailer three and pre-orders may indeed surface.
Rockstar Games does, for whatever reason, have a particular affinity for Tuesdays and Thursdays, and today is the latter.
“It’s actually happening, I can’t believe it,” said one Reddit user.
“We are eating today!! All aboard,” added another.
Of course, the GTA fandom doesn’t have an excellent track record of predicting Rockstar Games’ movements so it’s worth taking all of this with a pinch of salt.
When trailer three or pre-orders do surface, we’ll bring those updates to you.
