GTA 6 New Delay Rumour Surfaces, But You Needn't Worry

With Grand Theft Auto VI already receiving one delay, there is no surprise that many fans are on tenterhooks just in case Rockstar announces another ahead of the game’s May 2026 release date.

At the time of writing, the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for a 26 May 2026 release but with Rockstar having the weight of the world on its shoulders in order to deliver a history-defining game, it would be no surprise if another delay was announced.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has become a household name since its first game was released all the way back in 1997.

Not only that but with its latest entry, Grand Theft Auto V, being released well over a decade ago, fans have gone a long time without running down citizens and robbing banks.

Now a recent comment by Tom Henderson, the owner of Insider Gaming, has made some fans start to panic as he believes another GTA VI delay is imminent.

Speaking on the Insider Gaming Youtube channel, Henderson simply said that Grand Theft Auto VI could be delayed again but he was not able to verify it with any sources.

This simple statement was posted over on r/GTA6 and as you can imagine, fans were quick to panic.

However, it was thanks to one user who took the time to listen to the video that worries were soon quenched.

“I just listened to the clip,” they shared. “And he's just giving his personal opinion and making it clear not to post on Reddit. And yet here you are…”

So the good news is that Henderson’s theory is just a personal opinion and has not been backed up by any evidence.

The bad news is that the last time an insider claimed a delay was imminent, GTA VI was pushed from a Fall 2025 release date to May 2026.

“I’d have to resort to real life GTA if this gets delayed again,” one user (hopefully) joked.

It seems as though fans are getting desperate so let us just hope all of this theories remain theories and we can finally dive into GTA VI in just over eight months.
