Grand Theft Auto VI’s pre-orders still haven’t been officially opened by Rockstar Games but with every passing day, new details emerge online.
Thanks to an email by US retailer Best Buy, it’s essentially confirmed that pre-orders will arrive by 18 May.

From 18 to 21 May, Best Buy is offering its affiliate partners 5% commission on GTA VI pre-orders, with many popular internet users having reported receiving the email.

That’s not to say that pre-orders won’t open before 18 May though; Best Buy may not want to offer commission in those first few days of availability.
Following that, DetectiveSeeds has now surfaced on Twitter/X claiming to know about GTA VI’s various editions.
There are reportedly set to be six editions in total, including a pricey collector’s edition for those who want to get their hands on some cool merch, too.
“I was given the GTA VI pricing, bundles, and various structures of ordering the game by the same person who gave me the week of pre-orders starting, which was correct as highlighted by my leaked DM’s that prove I had the info well over a week ago,” the tweet began.
“I am choosing not to put the pricing info out, as I was advised this could have market impacts if I do so. But, I can say there will be six ways of purchasing the game at pre-order.”
DetectiveSeeds went on to confirm that there are “three digital/physical options, which are the usual types of tiers”.
I’m assuming then that we’re looking at a standard and deluxe edition at the very least, perhaps with the latter securing early access or exclusive DLC.
The leaker then added that there is “one that is more rare with some stuff”, likely the collector’s edition.
Finally, GTA VI will seemingly have two editions, “tied with consoles (Pro and standard) with a digital code for download”, referring to Sony’s unannounced PS5 marketing partnership with Rockstar for GTA VI.
“I was told the bundles themselves will not have a physical copy in them,” DetectiveSeeds concluded.
This all sounds incredibly plausible, although we should still take all information with a pinch of salt.
“Ok, good, are you able to share perhaps IF the pricing would follow the given rates of $60-80 USD? Not an exact price, just a YES or NO,” someone replied to the tweet.
“Yes,” DetectiveSeeds confirmed.
He later added that the PC version of the game was supposedly expected for February.
Of course, there are plenty of sceptical fans, with many feeling that DetectiveSeeds has made a very obvious guess, and that is a possibility.
What we do know is that Rockstar Games hasn’t posted to the Chinese social media site BilliBilli this morning, which means it’s less likely that we’ll see a GTA Online or Red Dead Online post on Twitter/X later today.
It doesn’t guarantee an announcement, but it’s certainly always a promising sign.
If pre-orders do open, we’ll be sure to bring that news to you.
