With the news that Grand Theft Auto VI would be receiving yet another delay, it is Rockstar’s seemingly cryptic statement that has left fans feeling worried.
Following yet another earnings call from Rockstar’s parent-company Take-Two Interactive, the Grand Theft Auto developers decided to shock the gaming sphere by announcing that Grand Theft Auto VI would be delayed yet again.
It is hard to believe that GTA 6 was originally planned for a Fall 2025 release which would have meant we would be playing it right now. It was then delayed until 26 May 2026 before finally being delayed until 19 November 2026 in yesterday’s Rockstar Games statement.
Now it is again over a year until we can finally get our hands on the most anticipated video game release of all time. However, the statement released by Rockstar may hint that Grand Theft Auto VI may actually be a lot smaller in scale than we first thought.

Previous rumours have hinted at the next Grand Theft Auto title featuring one of the biggest open-world maps of all time, spanning across multiple states and regions.
Rockstar have previously confirmed that players will get to experience the new-and-improved Vice City, situated in the state of Leonida.
However, it has also mentioned another state named Gloriana.

That being said, the recent statement may reveal that Gloriana and a separate state entirely has been omitted from the final product.
“We want to thank you again for your patience and support,” it read.
“While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”
As you can see, the statement only mentions ‘state’ referring to Leonida and has no mention of Gloriana.
What does this mean for the map size?
This choice of words did not go unnoticed by fans over on r/GTA6.
“Do you think the wording alludes to no Gloriana, or is that looking too deep?” One user asked, in a post that has since been deleted.
However, the comments remain and it seems as though fans are feeling divided.
“It alludes to Gloriana NOT being in the game,” user Saukko505 shared.
“I think that Gloriana state might be the next Guarma thing, for particular missions,” another user suggested.
However, for another user, all of the delays have left them feeling disheartened about the whole thing.
“They can do whatever they want. Most people don’t care anymore.”
Well, according to the outpouring on social media following news of the delay, it is safe to say that most people do in fact care.
However, with Rockstar still keeping information close to its chest and there being no sign of that third trailer, it had better find a way to placate fans and soon.
