GTA 6 set to include divisive Red Dead Redemption 2 feature

Grand Theft Auto VI will supposedly only let you carry a limited number of weapons, just like Red Dead Redemption 2.

It’s a bit of an odd choice considering players were basically a walking military base in Grand Theft Auto V, but Rockstar Games is known for making some weird decisions.

Take a look at this brilliant remaster of GTA: Vice City.

That being said it would make sense given how Red Dead Redemption 2 has apparently inspired several aspects of Grand Theft Auto VI. Aside from following, and hopefully exceeding, the Western in graphical fidelity, the game is also rumoured to feature super intelligent AI, and even give one of its protagonists Arthur Morgan’s tracking ability.

Of course, all of this is based on leaks and rumours, none of which can be fully confirmed as Rockstar Games is yet to share official details on the game’s development. Many expected a reveal trailer to drop during October but were left disappointed and disheartened.

The worst part is it’s unlikely we’ll receive one this year, as it’s believed the release date for the game is set for sometime during Spring 2025, meaning it’d make more sense to share a trailer next year closer to the game’s launch.

Back to the weapon inventory though, it does present greater opportunities for players to be a bit more tactical in what they take into story or side missions.

It’s likely the game will start with basic weapons available, before eventually progressing to bigger and more powerful guns, maybe even some special weapons like GTA V’s alien blasters.

Furthermore, it’s been said players will be able to increase their carrying capacity with accessories like duffel bags, and can also store other weapons in the boot of their vehicles, which certainly sounds like a handy feature.

The only thing we can do now is sit and wait for Rockstar to officially share the game with the world, so we can finally see which leaks were credible, and which were straight-up fabrications.
