GTA 6 Gamers Marking Their Calendars For 27 September

Our questions might finally be answered

GTA VI is fast approaching, even with the delay, but there are still so many questions that we don’t have an answer to.

For starters, we have no idea what the gameplay looks like. Both trailers we’ve had so far have been very cutscene heavy and we’re yet to see footage of the player’s character exploring the world and getting into scrapes.

Obviously it’ll probably look like every previous Grand Theft Auto game but it’d be nice to see how it differs in terms of activities, combat and more. For instance Red Dead Redemption 2 has a great melee combat system, so is that making a return for GTA VI?

We simply don’t know, but we might be about to find out. Podcaster Lex Fridman, recently made a post on Reddit saying they’ll soon be speaking to Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games.

Fridman explained in the post how few interviews Houser tends to do, and he’d love to have fans send questions his way to potentially ask during the interview. As you can imagine plenty of questions have already been posed.

IGN is also set to interview Houser tomorrow, 27 September.

There’s a lot of potential with these interviews. It’s worth noting that Dan Houser is no longer part of Rockstar Games, leaving the company back in 2020, so we probably won’t hear anything about GTA VI aside from educated guesses and hopes for the game.

What we could hear about though are planned features and projects, with some of the top questions posed by fans being about GTA V’s cut-content. GTA V was rumoured to be getting singleplayer story DLC which was shelved in favour of more GTA: Online content, so it’d be great to hear more of the story there.

We might also hear more about Red Dead Redemption 2’s development, and why that game also didn’t get any singleplayer DLC when an Undead Nightmare sequel/prequel was right there for the taking.

Who knows what we’ll learn from the interviews, and while we’ll likely still have plenty of questions regarding GTA VI when the interviews are published we might at least get a better insight into Rockstar’s development philosophy.

As for future GTA VI news, a third trailer is likely on the way before the end of the year, and hopefully it’ll feature the gameplay we’ve been waiting for.
