GTA 6 Early Access leaves fans divided

Will Rockstar follow the latest trend?

Early access is becoming more and more popular over recent years with many publishers giving players the chance to dive into a game a few days ahead of its launch.

For a price, of course.

This has been seen recently with the release of Dune: Awakening, as despite its official launch not being until 10 June, players were able to spend a bit extra to dive into the game on the 5th.

When I say “a bit extra”, it is quite the increase as the standard edition of Dune: Awakening is £41.99 but players could buy the Deluxe version for £58.50 to be able to play the game five days earlier.

Of course, if players are that excited for a brand-new release, they will probably pay the extra money but this is not feasible for everybody.

Nevertheless, this early access trend has recently made its way over to r/GTA6 as one player wonders if Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will follow suit.

“Do you think GTA VI will follow the trend of offering two or three days early access for those who buy the deluxe edition?” User MTH1138 recently asked.

Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released on 26 May 2026 and although there is still quite some time to go, if any game is going to see fans pay for early access, it is this one.

However, early access has not been standard practice for Rockstar for previous releases and so fans believe it will not be an option for GTA VI.

“Rockstar doesn’t pull that s*it,” one user said simply.

Others agreed, with another user adding, “Nope, they are never going to give early access for the most anticipated game.

Imagine the spoilers that will hit the internet on the first day.”

Despite this practice giving us more days to enjoy Grand Theft Auto VI, it seems as though the vast majority of fans would rather stay clear of spoilers and wait until 26 May.

However, who knows what Rockstar and Take-Two have planned?
