There is just under a year to go until Grand Theft Auto VI is set to be released but after the highly anticipated title was hit with one delay, fans are scared that the same will happen again.
There is no denying that Grand Theft Auto VI has cemented itself as the most anticipated game of all time, especially as fans have been waiting for the next Grand Theft Auto instalment for well over a decade.
Rockstar is definitely keeping us waiting and some fans are concerned that the wait will be even longer than planned following a previous delay.
Ahead of its current release date, Grand Theft Auto VI was expected to launch some time in Fall 2025 but earlier this year saw Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive reveal that the release had been pushed to 26 May 2026.

Now with just under a year to go, fans are hoping that GTA VI will not be hit with another delay and a recent viral meme shows just that.
Posted by the GTA 6 Countdown Twitter account, the user replied to an original post which requested to “share a piece of game lore about yourself”.
The GTA 6 Countdown Twitter account replied with, “I had to reset the countdown to GTA 6 after 485 days. (Hopefully the delay doesn’t happen again).”
It was definitely a sad time when fan accounts had to reset the countdown timer so it is no wonder that fans do not want the same thing to happen again.

“Lol.. let’s pray there are no more delays!!,” TheGTAVerse account replied.
“Nah, that would be criminal,” another user added.
“We got the date and everything set on the Playstation Store. They better not delay.”
It remains to be seen if we will be diving into Vice City on 26 May 2026 or if we will have to wait even longer.

Let us hope it is the former.
