Release date fears for GTA VI may have been put to rest following a fresh leak that has been brought to our attention.
As we edge closer to its release next year, hype continues to build for Rockstar Games’ next entry in the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto series, namely, GTA VI. Years before Rockstar Games officially revealed GTA VI with its first trailer in December 2023, anticipation for the game was already through the roof.
“Vice City, USA,” reads the synopsis of GTA VI. “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
This week, Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive, is holding its quarterly earnings call meeting with investors. And for better or worse, GTA fans are expecting a huge announcement to follow.

Many fans are hoping that not only will the third trailer for GTA VI drop in the coming days, but some also fear that a release date delay might be announced by Rockstar Games.
Over the years, whether it’s Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption, release date delays are nothing new for Rockstar Games. Even GTA VI has suffered one already.
Although GTA VI never had a concrete date for its initial launch year of 2025, the game was pushed back to 2026 around the same time as its second trailer reveal. That being said, there’s no question that Rockstar Games, more often than not, takes advantage of any extra development time.

Will GTA VI get delayed again?
According to the curator of Rockstar Games news and sometimes a leaker of all things related, Tez2 has suggested that GTA fans brush up on their multilingual skills in preparation for a new global marketing campaign for the game.

Of course, unconfirmed information should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but none of us will be surprised if Rockstar Games drops a new trailer following the investors' meeting taking place on 6 November this week. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is intended to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its PC port hasn't been announced yet.
