We’re at the very end of October which means it’s almost time for spooky season to draw to a close. In terms of Halloween viewing this year, Netflix has been supplying the goods. In case you missed it, new TV series The Midnight Club has broken the world record for the most jumpscares in a single episode of television. It’s not something I'll be watching but it sounds fun if you enjoy unsettling yourself, which I don’t.

If that’s not your cup of tea, Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is also unfolding on the streaming platform. The anthology consists of eight equally creepy horror stories. Lacking time to dedicate to a TV series? A new Netflix horror film has been released and has got a very impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes: Creep 2.

Check out the trailer for Creep 2 below … if you dare.

Truthfully, Creep 2 isn’t exactly new. The film came out in 2017 but it is new to Netflix so this might be the first time that it’s crossed your radar. Unsurprisingly, Creep 2 is a sequel to Creep so let’s backtrack for a minute. Creep is a found-footage movie about a videographer who is hired by a stranger to film him for the day, explaining that the video will be passed down to his unborn son. Naturally as a horror film, things take a creepy turn.

Fast forward to Creep 2, the same stranger is back. This time, he lures in a YouTuber to create a documentary on his life. I won’t dive into the specifics but this is not a dude you’d want to spend time with. Despite how, well, creepy the film sounds, critics heaped praise on the project giving it its 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Reel Rundown’s Chris Sawin wrote, “Creep 2 is the type of film that makes you squirm in your seat due to its uncomfortable nature, but your eyes remain glued to the screen because the thought of missing some crucial detail is just as horrific as a serial killer videotaping all of his kills,” while Decider’s Josh Sorokach said, “Creep 2 is the perfect scary movie for people who loathe traditional horror films.” Halloween plans sorted then?
