The full story synopsis for God Of War Ragnarok has been released, confirming something fans have been keen to see since the first game released back in 2018.

Fans noticed earlier this week that the long-awaited God Of War sequel's PlayStation Store page has been updated to include a much more detailed synopsis ahead of its November release date. This is, in fact, the first time we've seen any real information on the game's story, which has remained something of a secret since being announced.

While there's a lot for fans to dig into in this synopsis, perhaps the most exciting revelation is that Kratos and Atreus will be able to explore all of the Nine Realms. 2018's God Of War allowed players to go to Midgard, Alfheim, Helheim, Muspelheim, Nilfheim, and Jotunheim, with some being rather more fleshed out and relevant to the story than others.

That left Svartalfheim, Vanaheim, and of course Asgard unexplored. Some fans believed that these realms would become accessible in DLC for God Of War, but this obviously never happened. Asgard, we'd assume, is going to play a pretty big role in Ragnarok's climax, so it makes sense that the realm of the gods has been held back for the sequel.

The full synopsis for God Of War Ragnarok reads: "Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world.

"Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms,"

We actually got a very quick peek at Asgard in a teaser last month, but this is our first confirmation that it will be featured in the new game alongside Svartalfheim, Vanaheim, and the returning realms. We can't wait to see what else has changed when God Of War Ragnarok hits PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 9.
