A recent update regarding the live-action God of War TV series has got fans excited to see who will portray Kratos on the small screen, and (for once) the community is cooking up some great choices.
Last night, a report from Nexus Point News revealed that Amazon's upcoming God of War TV series is set to begin filming in March 2026.
Admittedly, that’s a little sooner than I expected– especially considering that, as the report states, Amazon and Sony have yet to cast anyone as Kratos.
But who could fill boots as big as Kratos’ voice actor, Christopher Judge? Judge’s performance is iconic, and he’d be weirdly perfect for the role in live-action too (although that is seemingly very unlikely, as Judge’s health concerns may get in the way).

Well, it seems the community has a few answers to that question.
One comment in a thread over on the r/PS5 subreddit inspired some great casting choices, and honestly, they’re all so good that I don’t know if I can pick a favourite.
“Jason Momoa seems like the obvious choice. If [he] shaved his head he'd be the spitting image of Kratos lol”, commented user HearTheEkko.
“Dave Bautista for me, if they're doing old Kratos”, replied user Andybabez20.

“I think Winston Duke (M'Baku in Black Panther) would be a solid choice. He's young (38), and has the height and build for the role”, commented user 22Seres.
Actually, never mind– I do have a favourite, and it’s that last one.
Winston Duke absolutely looks the part to me, and he’s a phenomenal actor. Plus, I can’t like, he certainly is built for it.
That being said, all of the choices sound great to me. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up casting a complete unknown in the role (to save some money).

But hey, as long as the dude is built like a brickhouse, I’ll be happy.
