The DMR Has Been Nerfed In 'Warzone', For Real This Time

Nerfs up.

At any given moment in time, Call Of Duty: Warzone has at least one weapon that almost everyone can agree is completely broken. This tends to divide the community into two camps: Those who exploit the broken weapons for their own personal gain, and those who believe the weapon has made the game unplayable because of ones who are exploiting it.

Over the last few weeks, fans have complained that one of the weapons to the battle royale as part of the Black Ops Cold War integration has all but ruined the game. I'm talking, of course, about the DMR 14 - a weapon with high damage, superb range, and very little recoil. Almost everybody has been demanding Warzone developer Raven Software fix this OP weapon since its arrival late last year.

A patch for the battle royale dropped last week that introduced some crucial changes to the weapon, but players almost immediately told the developer that it wasn't enough. The DMR was supposed to have undergone reduced headshot damage and increased recoil in an attempt to make it more balanced, but fans quickly pointed out these changes were minimal. The DMR continued to tear up the meta and annoy players everywhere.

Fortunately Raven Software just put out another patch, and the DMR has been properly nerfed - for real, this time. Patch notes confirm that the DMR has seen a massive amount of changes that reduce the weapons damage, range, bullet penetration, and headshot damage while once again increasing recoil.

The full list of changes can be seen below:

• Bullet penetration reduced from sniper to AR

• Damage falloff ranges decreased
- 55 damage before / 48 damage after 750 units (down 70% from 2500 units)

• Recoil increased
- Increased moderately for second and third bullet
- Increased slightly for subsequent bullets

• Locational damage multipliers adjusted
- Headshot now does less than 100 damage after 750 units
- Lower torso reduced from 1.1 to 1.01 (~8%)

Raven Software has also nerfed two of the DMR's attachments, increasing the recoil on both the Front Grip and Field Agent Foregrip. Hopefully this should put an end to the DMR's reign of terror, but we'll have to give the community some time with the newly nerfed gun to see if the changes do what they need to do.
