As first published in issue 189 of Retro Gamer magazine (on shelves now) and subsequently picked up by online outlets - shout out to Nintendo Life - the team behind 1998's Dreamcast platformer Sonic Adventure are absolutely up for remaking their 20-year-old classic for modern consoles.
Developed by SEGA's in-house Sonic Team, Sonic Adventure was the fleet-footed company mascot's first 3D platformer proper. It released in Japan in very late 1998, and came to Europe in September 1999. Despite strong sales and significant critical acclaim, however, Sonic Adventure (and its sequel) couldn't save SEGA's final console from commercial failure - the Dreamcast was officially discontinued in 2001.

Speaking to Retro Gamer, Sonic Adventure director and Sonic Team lead Takashi Iizuka expressed his enthusiasm for revisiting the game (quote edited for length):
"It was the first high-speed 3D action game that also featured a scenario highlighted with six different stories... It is a unique game, even 20 years after its release. At the time... it was the title to bring people to the Dreamcast, and we were given the budget to make something to showcase the hardware. However, it was the very first 3D game that we worked on, and looking at it now I can see the rough edges it has, which really makes me want to remake it."
Iizuka is currently the head of the Sonic franchise - producer on both Sonic Forces and the upcoming Team Sonic Racing - so if anyone's well placed to make a call on remaking Sonic Adventure, it's him.
Personally, if I could have any Dreamcast-era game make the leap to modern consoles, it'd probably be Jet Set Radio - mainly because I never sunk enough time into it, back when, to truly appreciate it.
