'Spider-Man' Director Sam Raimi Wants To Make A Batman Movie
Speaking to Empire, the director said he'd "come running" if he was given the chance to put his own spin on the Dark Knight.
We've all been enjoying a bit of Batman in our lives lately. Since the release of Matt Reeves' gritty reboot The Batman earlier this month, basically everyone on the internet has been sharing their love for the Dark Knight.
It turns out that includes other very prominent movie directors, too. Sam Raimi, who's perhaps best known for directing the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, has expressed how much he'd love to be involved in making a Batman movie if he was given the chance.
Speaking of The Batman, be sure to check out this newly released deleted scene, which is currently sending fans wild.
"I've always loved Batman. If I ever saw the Batsignal up in the air, I'd come running," he said, speaking to Empire. But the caped crusader isn't the only comic book character he'd be interested in bringing to the silver screen himself: "If I heard that deep, gurgling laugh of The Shadow coming from the darkness, I would also tentatively step outside. And Spider-Man would be ahead of Doctor Strange, but I don't want to put him down the list!"
Before he can get on with making a Batman movie though, the director will need to get his upcoming Doctor Strange sequel out of the way first. After being pushed back for basically a year, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will finally be hitting the big screen on 5 May in the UK, and 6 May in the US. Not only is it seemingly confirmed that Sir Patrick Stewart will be making some sort of appearance as Professor X, but the movie itself is apparently set to be one of Marvel's largest to date.
It's not been officially announced yet, but according to one listing on a Brazilian ticket site (and originally reported by ComicBook), the movie will apparently run for 148 minutes (two hours 28 minutes), which is the same length as Spider-Man: No Way Home. As far as MCU movies are concerned, only Infinity War, Eternals, and (obviously) Endgame run for longer, so yeah, pretty chunky. The trailers look super promising, so I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
