The trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City is here. Gosh, there's a lot riding on this. Fortunately, it doesn't look too shabby for an apocalyptic adventure.
Of course, there are the series of Paul W S Anderson films that are... let's say... loosely inspired by the games. Perhaps that's too generous. This new outing totally ignores these jaunts in favour of sticking closely to the original material, which is music to the ears of fans.
"I really wanted to recreate the fear of playing that first game," said director Johannes Roberts in an interview with Den of Geek. To Roberts, that's not just making sure every story beat is covered, but experimenting with those tight camera angles of Resident Evil to produce that same suspense.
