PlayStation Plus Subscribers Can Download An Extra Free Game Right Now

A free history lesson.

PlayStation Plus subscribers with a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 can grab themselves an extra free game right now, that's on top of the current free games that were made available at the start of May. We're so very spoiled.

Earlier this month Stranded Deep, Battlefield V, and Wreckfest were announced and released as the free games for May 2021. But every now and again, Sony throws subscribers a cheeky little something something extra. Usually its a series of discounts, a free trial, or some neat little cosmetics for a shooter like Call Of Duty: Warzone. Right now, however, there's a cracking little extra available to download that I think you'll all want to get on.

Before we move on, take a look at some of the best and cutest PlayStation cameos hidden in the excellent Astro's Playroom!

From now until June 2, you can net yourself an extra free game in the form of Capcom Arcade Stadium: Ghosts 'n Goblins. Granted, it's not exactly the biggest freebie we've ever gotten, but Capcom's 1985 arcade classic is well worth checking out - especially for the low, low price of nothing.

To claim this particular freebie, you'll first need to download Capcom Arcade Stadium from the PlayStation Store. Fortunately this is a free download and takes no time all. From there, simply look for Ghosts 'n Goblins on the store and you'll be able to claim it for free provided you're logged in as a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

Again, it's the biggest or most exciting freebie, but it's a fun something extra for any retro video game enthusiasts looking to bulk up their collection, or even any younger gamers who fancy a bit of a history lesson.

June's free PlayStation Plus games have yet to be officially announced, but a leak from a reliable source with a proven track record claims that we can expect next month to bring Star Wars Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and Operation: Tango.
