A nice selection!

The PlayStation Plus free games for September 2021 have been officially confirmed by Sony, and it looks like last week's leaks were pretty much bang-on the money.

Sony has announced that from September 7, PS Plus subscribers will be able to download Overcooked! All You Can Eat for PlayStation 5 and Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds for the PlayStation 4. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remastered was previously rumoured, but these three games are an undeniable step-up from last month's relatively weak offerings.

While I've yet to play Predator: Hunting Grounds, I know it's a multiplayer shooter that's received fairly mixed reviews. A free game is a free game though, and now is as good a time as any to check it out and form our own opinions.

Happily, I have played the other two games in this month's lineup and can wholeheartedly recommend them both. Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a substantial multiplayer party game that combines the two Overcooked! games with a ton of new content. If you've never played Overcooked! before, let me just say that it's utterly chaotic and tremendous fun. You will also want to murder whoever you're playing with at all times.

Hitman 2, meanwhile, is a delightfully devilish murder sim set across a series of intricately designed sandbox-style levels. The freedom you get to track and kill targets is something else, and you'll get to flex your most sadistic muscles as you find new ways to take your poor victims out.

Don't forget this means you have until September 7 to download August's free games: Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Tennis World Tour 2, and Hunter's Arena: Legends.
