2018's God Of War remains, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time.
Sony Santa Monica Studio's epic PS4 adventure was an incredibly impressive piece of work immersed us in the life and struggles of Kratos like never before, thanks in no small part to the way in which the developers used a third-person camera to keep us right up behind the Ghost of Sparta at all times. It was as if we were following him and Atreus on his journey, and it worked beautifully.
With that in mind, I was a little unsure of how a first-person for God Of War would work. Turns out I needn't have worried, however, as the below video from YouTuber Speclizer demonstrates that playing through the game from Krato's point of view completely transforms the experience. Is it better? Is it worse? It's certainly different, and it's definitely awesome. Whether it improves on the original third-person perspective is up to you. I'm not sure it does.

For the most part we're seeing things through the eyes of Kratos, which lends a completely feeling to those quieter moments with his son. You're essentially looking down at Atreus with your massive hand on his shoulder, and you get a real sense of the delicate nature of the relationship between the two. The video also dives into some moments from Atreus' point of view, which further emphasizes the fact that Kratos is an absolute unit, and a towering force of nature - especially in the eyes of a child.
Unfortunately the mod itself isn't widely available, and doesn't seem to apply to combat. To be fair, there's no way you'd be able to put God Of War's combat in first-person without entirely changing the way it works, so perhaps its for the best that this particular mod simply shows us the game's less intense moments via first-person.
