Upcoming Game Lets You Command A Fire Breathing Dragon

Upcoming Game Lets You Command A Fire Breathing Dragon

Why aren't there more dragon-riding games?

Okay, this might seem like a bit of a throwback, but do you remember Eragon? The 2006 film based on the very successful book series by Christopher Paolini follows a young man who is born to ride dragons. The film is pretty terrible but the dream of commanding and flying on the backs of dragons has stayed with me since seeing that film. Although dragons are entirely fictional, upcoming game November Eve might bring us closer to being dragon riders.

November Eve is a single-player role-playing game that is currently being created by just one person. Although the dev team is as small as it could possibly be, the footage that has come out of the project already has us really hopeful that this title is going to be incredible when it comes out of development.

The Patreon for the project gives us just a little background of the intentions of the developer. The story in the game is going to be "rich with fantasy narratives and plays with ancient and historic philosophical archetypes." You'll have enemies to battle and locations with NPCs to interact with - all the typical fun RPG stuff. You'll also have weapons and armour to collect as you "fight your way through the vast landscape to uncover the story behind your awakening into this land."

You can see how the video footage of the game has so much potential in it. Of course, it's early days in terms of development and there is more work to be done, but it also raises the question - where are all the dragon-riding games we should have? Please - let me fly like I'm in Microsoft Flight Simulator but on the back of a beast.

November Eve is currently being developed for PC but might come to consoles eventually. We wish the November Eve team luck and hope that they continue to create something special.
