Nintendo Switch gamers surprised with new free game, but you don't have forever

Nintendo Switch users can enjoy a free demo for a fantastic sport game right now, but only for a limited time sadly.

Much like its PlayStation and Xbox “competitors,” and I use that term loosely, Nintendo occasionally throws a bone in the direction of its fans with a free game demo.

Have you watched the live-action Fallout show yet? Check out GAMINGbible’s interview with the cast below

It’s the only free thing the company ever does hand out, as even its subscription service Nintendo Switch Online only features retro titles, one of which is a certified Rare banger that I’d argue is worth the price of admission alone.

This time however the free demo you’ll be able to enjoy is for NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition, which is available from today, 17 April to 23rd April.

NBA 2k24 is the latest basketball game from 2K, that lets players build their own sports superstar, team, and career.

Unfortunately reviews for the game haven’t been kind, as it’s actually sitting at a Mostly Negative rating on Steam at the time of writing.

Nevertheless if you’re a fan of basketball or sports in general it’s probably worth trying the demo, though of course performance will be inferior to that of a PC, Xbox or PlayStation version of the game.

Even if you’re not a sports fan it’s probably worth checking out the demo, it’s free and could be a decent way of killing time for an afternoon, or spark an interest in other games in the series.

The demo is active from 17 April to 23 April, after which you’ll have to pay for the full game in order to keep playing.

Also make sure to check back in every now and then for updates on other free game demos available on the Nintendo Switch store.
