The Nintendo eShop has gained a free new release that can now be enjoyed natively by Nintendo Switch 2 users.
You’re perhaps already familiar with Warframe.
The beloved free-to-play action RPG first landed in 2013 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
It then arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2018, with Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 ports having surfaced in the years since.

“Confront warring factions throughout a sprawling interplanetary system as you follow the guidance of the mysterious Lotus and level up your Warframe, build an Arsenal of destructive firepower, and realise your true potential across massive open worlds in this thrilling, genre-defining third-person combat experience,” the game’s description reads.
The game essentially revolves around the idea of having a bio-metal suit that you can upgrade with a wide array of abilities as you also wield various weapons and blast your way through hordes of enemies.
Warframe is a narrative-driven experience plus you can enjoy it with friends with the title featuring plenty of brilliant group-based missions.
In fact, Warframe’s narrative stretches across a whopping five expansions, so if you do get sucked in by this one, you’ll be entertained for months.

Warframe didn’t exactly get off to the best start critically, landing a score of 64 on aggregate website MetaCritic.
It proved a hit with players though and has gone from strength to strength in the decade-plus since that original launch.
Technically, Warframe has always been playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 given the fact that the Nintendo Switch copy is backwards compatible.
Just a few days ago, however, the game natively launched on Nintendo’s newest console which means you can now head to the Nintendo eShop and download a version specifically for Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
There are plenty of incentives to do just that.
The latest version of Warframe runs at 60fps in 1080p resolution, offers DLSS support, sun shadows, higher shade quality, improved audio, new volumetric lighting, enhanced decals, higher resolution textures, and Joy-Con 2 mouse support.
As such, it should refresh the experience for longtime players.
If you hop into the game before 15 April, you can also nab a nice little freebie in the form of the Ambimanus Pack.
That includes the following: Vericres Warfran, Akomeogi Warfan Skin, Slicing Feathers Mod, Three-Day Credit Booster, Three-Day Affinity Booster, Buddies in Gaming Glyph, and Broadsword Past/Future Sigil.
