Fans think it’s high time for a new Command & Conquer game, and are begging EA to make it happen.

I’ll admit when it comes to real-time-strategy games (RTS) my heart belongs to the Halo Wars series, but even I know a Command & Conquer revival is deserved and needs to happen.

Take a look at the Command & Conquer games below and see what I mean

It’s often regarded as one of the earliest RTS games, and while a remastered collection released for PC in 2020, new games have been few and far between if you don’t count the mobile games.

Now fans are rallying for a brand-new release for PCs and potentially Xbox and PlayStation 5 platforms and are reaching out to EA to make it happen, though they’re not holding their breath.

In a post by Vdubnub88, fans pondered the idea of “When will we see a brand new Command & Conquer?” So far there’s been no word on a new project entering development, and unfortunately fans aren’t optimistic one ever will, and if it is, it won’t do the series justice.

Some reiterated the fact a new game would come from EA, and how they weren’t hopeful it’d be a good one. They said “Since it's owned by EA, I don't think we'll ever see a new, good Command & Conquer game.”

Others obviously agreed, citing the mobile games as evidence of EA not wanting to expend too much effort on a major project. They said: “‘Was the bad mobile game not what you wanted?’- EA probably.”

The pessimism continued with one fan saying: “Sadly probably never, EA burned that with C&C4... I'd love to see a redo which actually does a proper C&C game … but it's not an easy copy and paste game that EA are so fond of. Looking at you all sporting trash.”

Never say never though, a new Command & Conquer game could get the greenlight eventually and it might actually be the revival fans are hoping for.
