The upcoming Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy remains shrouded in mystery, but it's clearly already one of the most-antipcated releases of 2022.

Fans of the Wizarding World have been chomping at the bit for a comprehensive open-world Potter game for years, and what we have seen of Avalanche Studios' project so far certainly looks set to deliver the full Hogwarts experience.

As you can see from the reveal trailer below (as if you haven't already watched it a ton), there are classes to attend, dungeons to explore, and monsters to fight. You'll get to live your best Hogwarts life. But with nearly a year of silence as the studio continues to toil away, hardcore fans are desperate to know more about the minutia of Hogwarts Legacy.

Fortunately, Hogwarts Legacy writer DC Allen has been busy on Twitter happily chatting with fans about their expectations and what the studio hopes to deliver. Just a few weeks ago he hinted that players will be able to fully embrace their role as a Dark wizard if they want to. Now, an older Twitter thread has resurfaced with even more exciting details.

As recently shared on Reddit, Allen took to Twitter back in June to ask fans what they wanted to see from Hogwarts Legacy (in a totally unofficial capacity). It didn't take long for a number of accounts to come back with their own versions of the ideal Hogwarts Legacy, but it was Hogwarts Legacy: News that had the most comprehensive list of suggestions.

Responding to Allen, HLN hit back with a huge list of features and mechanics. Among them, a "logical" spell-casting system that makes sense within the context of the world. HLN pointed to being able to start a fire with Incendio and put it out with Aguamenti as an example. They also touched on a Skyrim-style skill tree broken up into different subjects like Transfiguration and Charm, as well as the ability to fly anywhere by broom.

Oh, it keeps going. HLN suggested a day/night cycle as well as weekly schedule for different classes on different days, plus various monsters and events appearing depending on what time you visit certain locations. Stealth was also floated as a potential mechanic, with the idea being you can sneak past Prefects or enemies whenever you're out of bounds.

Other highlights of the thread include potion making, the ability to become a Dark wizard (which has pretty much been confirmed), Quidditch, House points, and a dynamic weather cycle. That's undoubtedly a hefty wishlist, but Allen's response has left fans super hopeful about the level of detail we'll see in Hogwarts Legacy.

"Wow that's an awesome list, thanks," the writer responded. "I don't want to sound like a tease because I'm really not sure how much has been announced about specific mechanics, such as spellcasting, but I think we're aligned with you on a lot of your expectations."

It's important to note that Allen definitely isn't speaking on behalf of Warner Bros. or Avalanche here, but the mere suggestion that Hogwarts Legacy could line up with even half of the long, long list of expectations outlined by HLN is an incredibly promising sign. Let's hope we i
