Did you think you already knew everything Cyberpunk 2077 had to offer? Think again, friend. Apparently the upcoming sci-fi RPG will allow players to explore a unique fantasy world through Cyberspace, the digital realm that we saw teased at the end of last year's demo.

This report comes via the German website GameStar, which recently spoke to the team at CD Projekt Red about Cyberpunk 2077. While these interviews are behind a paywall (and in German), Reddit user Moraez translated the coolest snippets and shared them on Reddit. Thanks for that.

While there's not an awful lot of information regarding how this promising-sounding feature works, Cyberspace is essentially a world within a world for hackers, and an area where some of the game's more esoteric sequences will take place. The GameStar translations describe this realm as a cross between Skyrim and Tron, and will feature fantasy-style weapons and spells.

The Reddit post also claims that in this realm players will be able to summon epic fantasy creatures to do battle - but Moraez has since updated the post to confirm that this was a mistranslation.

"The developer Philip Weber corrected me about the summoning part," he wrote. "Do not expect anything like Pokémon or fighting dragons or something. I am very sorry for causing any trouble, misunderstanding or wrong hope for anybody. I was not trying to irritate someone in any way. In the following I will add the original quote in German and a solid translation."

CD Projekt RED's Night City Wire stream will kick off on June 25th, where we'll no doubt learn a lot more about the open-world game and how it all works. I'd assume we'll also see a little more of Cyberspace in action, given how CDPR has largely kept it under wraps after all this time.

In the same interview, we also learned that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature over 1,000 NPCs with their own unique lives, schedules, and day-to-day activities. I thought The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask was impressive for having over a dozen characters live out three days before my eyes, so I'm super excited to see how this plays out.

"While there are some areas in The Witcher 3 where villagers don't have a daily routine, they [CDPR] are planing to improve this with giving more than 1,000 NPCs a handmade routine." Moraez wrote on Reddit.

Cyberpunk 2077 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 17th. I was already sold on the huge amount of side-quests, massive-sounding open world, and ability to customise the size and combination of my genitals... but Cyberspace sounds like the icing on an already delicious cake.
