Forza Horizon 5 players are paying tribute to rally legend and YouTube star Ken Block who, in recent days, sadly passed away at the age of 55. Block was pronounced dead by local authorities near his ranch in the Mill Hollow area of Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Utah, following a snowmobile accident. The vehicle was said to have overturned on a steep slope.

Block had a major influence on Forza. The rally driver’s Hoonigan-branded cars were introduced to Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 via expansion packs back in 2017. In the following year, Hoonigan-branded cars were included in the launch of Forza Horizon 4 and more recently, in Forza Horizon 5. To pay tribute to the legend, Forza Horizon 5 players have been hopping into their Hoonigan cars en masse.

As reported by The Loadout, Reddit is flooded with condolences and tributes for the rally legend. User justjavellana wrote, “Hooning it up for Ken,” while NotGnome recreated the iconic Pikes Peak photo which featured Block in his Hoonicorn (a modified 1965 Ford Mustang) at the picturesque Colorado location.

Developer Playground Games joined fans in paying tribute. The official Forza Twitter account wrote, “Devastating news about the loss of Ken Block. He was a legend in motorsports and will be dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to his family and team at The Hoonigans.”

Yesterday, GTA Online players paid tribute in a similar way. Many modified their in-game cars in a bid to recreate Block’s famous Hoonigan designs. Block held a strong presence in gaming. He also had appearances in Colin McRae: Dirt 2, Dirt 3, and 2015’s Need for Speed. Block’s team reflected on the rally legend’s role as “a visionary, a pioneer and an icon and most importantly, a father and husband.” GAMINGbible extends its condolences to Ken’s friends and family.
