Forza Horizon 5 is reportedly getting a crossover with Barbie

In a crossover no one saw coming, Forza Horizon 5 will be getting new cars from the upcoming Barbie film.

In a crossover no one saw coming, Forza Horizon 5 will reportedly be getting new cars from the upcoming Barbie film.

The Xbox exclusive Forza Horizon games are no stranger to crossovers. The series has added famous vehicles from some of the biggest franchises on the planet like Fast & Furious, James Bond, and even a major collaboration with Hot Wheels. But now, it’ll get arguably its greatest crossover yet, cars inspired by the Barbie film releasing later this summer.

The film will follow Barbie and Ken, played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling respectively, in an adventure that’ll bring the world-famous dolls to the real world. An official trailer was dropped recently, with thousands of people expressing their excitement, both ironically and genuinely.

Forza Motorsport is on the way. Take a look below.

To celebrate the film’s release, two cars will seemingly be added to the game’s roster, a corvette and a hummer, both of which are featured in the film in the classic hot-pink colour associated with the character. An official release date for the DLC hasn’t been officially announced, and it’s currently unknown if it’ll be a free download or not. The good news was shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by The_Iceman2288, and it’s safe to say fans are beyond hyped.

One wrote, "I will redownload FH5 just for this," while another added, "I finally have a reason to go back to FH5. The movie will make a Barbillion dollars.” Someone else said, "This is what kills playstation, not the [Activision] merger.”

Many also pointed out how funny it would be if the cars are the size of the toys they’re based on, which is unfortunately unlikely considering how long it’d take to traverse the game’s map when you’re the size of a toy. Hardcore Forza fans also reacted to the collab, discussing the choice of cars and their viability for races and other in-game activities.

The Barbie film will be released in cinemas on 21 July.
