Far Cry 7's 'perfect' setting has fans seriously excited

How far from release is it?

Far Cry fans are delighted with the potential “perfect” setting of the seventh numbered entry in the Ubisoft series.

Alongside the Assassin’s Creed series, Far Cry is one of the most popular properties owned by Ubisoft and despite its formula becoming quite stale in recent years, it’s still a big occasion when a new game is released, especially when it comes to its next charismatic villain.

The last game to be released in the series is Far Cry 6 in 2021 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Far Cry 7 is yet to be announced by Ubisoft, making it the longest spell we’ve gone without a new entry since the franchise's inception in 2004.

As such, fans are curious as to what awaits the series in the hope that Far Cry 7 will be officially announced in the coming months.

I like to think that considering it’s been nearly four years since Far Cry 6, Ubisoft might be cooking up something exciting for the series. Only time will tell.

“What do we know or at least think we know so far about Far Cry 7? What are your expectations? Hopes or fears? I would love a Wild West or Soviet/Korean-themed Far Cry,” asked Redditor MDrok6172.

“Alaska has the perfect wildlife hierarchy for a Far Cry game. Coyotes, Wolves, Wolverines, Sea Lions, Polar Bears,” replied Prestigious_Ad_5581.

“I agree with this completely. I think Alaska is perfect for Far Cry. The fundamentals of the series, at least early on, are/were, set in remote locations with sparse populations and usually against the backdrop of a civil conflict,” said Jatvardr.

“I would love Alaska. Take my money,” declared Voldemorts--Nipple.

“It's time for the series to revisit Africa. Either that or go to Alaska/Canadian wilderness, Prestigious_Ad_5581 suggested.

We’re sure that the announcement of Far Cry 7 is just around the corner and with a bit of luck, Ubisoft might reveal it during Summer Game Fest season 2025 in June. Our fingers will be crossed.
