The latest trailer for Amazon’s Fallout TV series has fans convinced that one of the game’s most recognisable stars is going to make a cameo appearance in the show, but not in the role you’d probably expect.
Earlier this month, Amazon dropped the first proper (as in, non-teaser) trailer for the second season of Fallout, and fans were quick to notice that a disembodied voice sounds a hell of a lot like Ron Perlman.
At roughly the 1:05 mark in the trailer, a very Super Mutant-esque voice states that 'there’s a war coming'. And I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that it sounds exactly like someone put Ron Perlman’s voice through a filter (that, somehow, makes him sound even deeper).
For the time being, however, it’s still unconfirmed. I mean that definitely sounds like Ron Perlman to me, but there hasn’t been any sort of official casting news relating to the actor’s potential appearance in the series.

However, to make matters even juicier, Perlman was asked by a fan during a panel at the Fan Expo Canada in August if he’d accept a role in the Fallout series, if offered… to which he replied: “I can’t comment."

Perlman's absence in the first season of the TV show was a bit of a sticking point for fans, considering he's had some kind of role (usually as the narrator) in every mainline Fallout game since the original release of the first Fallout back in 1997.
After all, is it really a proper Fallout game if you don’t hear Perlman say 'War... war never changes'?
Naturally you’d assume that he’d be taking over narration duties for the second season. But, if that truly is his voice in the trailer, it doesn’t sound like that will be the case.
Who Could Perlman Play in Fallout Season Two?
One poster over on the r/Fallout subreddit, which features a screenshot from another post from five years prior, seems to think that he might be taking over the role of Marcus, the friendly Super Mutant who appears in both Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Given that the season of the show is (at least partially) set in New Vegas and Marcus last appeared in Jacobstown in Fallout: New Vegas, his appearance would make a lot of sense.
However, commenters in the thread were quick to point out that Michael Dorn, who voiced the character in both of his appearances, would obviously be a better fit.
Dorn hasn’t exactly gone anywhere either, having recently voiced Battle Beast in Invincible and reprised his role as Worf in Star Trek: Picard, so not having him reprise his role as Marcus would be an odd choice.
Personally, I don’t see why we can’t have both Dorn and Perlman return, so hopefully Perlman is voicing a completely different Super Mutant (or even just some guy with a ridiculously deep voice).
