The console wars are mostly a thing of the past, as manufacturers and developers realise that a world in which everyone is able to play what they wish, is probably the best one for everyone concerned.
The effects of this are most obviously felt in multiplayer games, where cross-platform functionality allows games of that ilk to stay healthier for longer, as well as bringing down potential barriers between friendship groups who have chosen to go with different platforms.
It has also proved to be a nice path forward for single player releases as well, as previously console exclusive titles make their way across to direct competitors, allowing more players than ever to work through those narrative experiences.
Now, the price has been confirmed for one of the bigger RPGs of the last few years, which is set to do just that and make its way over to PlayStation for the first time.

Over on Reddit, one user shared the news that the price for Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed has been confirmed via the PlayStation store page listing the game.
Clocking in at a very respectable £39.99/$49.99, that lower price will come as a relief to many, in a world filled with games that struggle to justify their £70 price points.
It's also worth noting that the price of the Xbox version of the game has been reduced to match this offering, so if you were concerned about putting the trigger beforehand this may be the push you need to do so.
Comments about the game underneath the post sharing the price were generally positive, and this release definitely has the potential to rejuvenate excitement around Avowed moving forward.

“I absolutely adored this game last year. It's less an RPG and more of an arcadey looter in a beautiful world with cool characters and quests.
Your choices are cool but minimal. Can't wait to play it again on the Pro,” one read.
“Very worth in my opinion. I personally enjoyed it and put 36h into it. Loved the exploration and side quests,” another added.
Having played it pretty extensively myself, that price point is more than decent value, and one that should give RPG PlayStation fans pause for thought.
