Plan 8 is a massively multiplayer online shooter and it comes with some legendary names behind it, looking like a baby of Fallout and Titanfall.
When a shooter is released and it has one of the co-creators of Counter Strike onboard, you have to think it'll be a decent title. Plan 8 is spearheaded by Minh Le, who serves as a technical advisor, and is indeed a co-creator of Valve's successful shooter.

Plan 8 is played in exosuits, which really leans into the Titanfall inspirations. Who doesn't like stomping around in huge mech-like machine armour? This is the first shooter created by Pearl Abyss and combines successful genres like MMOs with action-packed gunplay.
Exosuits, as well as weapons, can be modified to apply new properties adding a level of depth that other shooters may lack. Every exosuit also has its own ability which calls for strategic gameplay from each player.
The game takes place on a planet wracked by destruction, giving it an edgy look, like a scene from any of the Fallout games. Not much more is known about the game which currently has no release date, but we do know that it's being targeted to release on PC, PS5 and XBOX Series.
From what we can see in the screenshots and trailer, Plan 8 has the potential to rival all the big online shooters, particularly if the exosuits are as customisable as they sound, bringing in some great options for players. There's due to be a large open-world and with a mixture of genres, even the developers say that even though Plan 8 is defined as a shooter, "it is difficult to confine the game to a single genre. The project aims to create a unique shooter title with MMO gameplay elements."
