Fallout fans rejoice, as new official DLC has just been confirmed by Bethesda ahead of the show’s second season.

Amazon’s Fallout TV series hit our screens last year, and it was a surprise hit.

The show attracted over 65 million viewers in the first two weeks of availability, making it one of the most successful series on Amazon Prime Video.

What’s more, it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait for long to watch the second season, either. It’ll be hitting Prime Video in December later this year.

The popularity of the show caused an increase in players checking out the games, and it sounds like Bethesda wants to be prepared this time around.

Jon Rush, creative director at Bethesda Game Studios for Fallout 76 confirmed to Variety that the studio was looking at developing tie-in content for the show ahead of the next season.

“We’re always focused on the game. I think a distinct trait of the Fallout 76 game is that we’re the furthest back in time. And it’s kind of funny, because the show’s the furthest into the future. So there’s a lot of room where we don’t necessarily need to overlap.”

He continued: “So folks see the show and want more of that same kind of story, and they’re going to come into 76, they’re going to come into Fallout 4, or come into Fallout 3.

“Lining things up with the seasonal releases of the show, it’s stuff that we talk about all the time, and we do have plans for things here and there. I’m not going to go into detail on any of those now, but the two teams do talk to one another.”

It sounds like Bethesda is kicking itself for not having a new Fallout game ready to coincide with the show. It now may be looking to bridge the gap between the games and the show with new DLC.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Fallout 76 team manages to achieve this, considering the game is set around 200 years before the events of the show.
