With the Fallout franchise the talk on everybody’s lips, it is no surprise that fans are desperate for more. Luckily for them, Fallout 5 may be arriving a lot sooner than we had hoped.

Following the recent success of the hit Prime Video show Fallout with it swiftly getting renewed for a second season and leading to the Bethesda game series getting a resurgence, it is no wonder that it is all we can talk about.

However, with Bethesda hard at work at both Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6, fans were not hopeful that we would see the next entry in the long-running Fallout series any time soon. This was especially disappointing considering we have not welcomed a main title since 2015.

Nevertheless, every cloud has a silver lining and Fallout 5 has just that thanks to a recent Xbox Two Podcast episode. During it, insider Jez Corden revealed that Xbox will reportedly aim to release Fallout 5 “before the decade ends”.

Although this does not sound as if the date has been narrowed down at all, it actually has considering The Elder Scrolls 6 was reportedly arriving first. Due to this, many Bethesda fans believed Fallout 5 would be delayed until way over the 10-year mark.

Corden believes it will take less time than this courtesy of Bethesda’s Starfield engine which could help speed up the process for any upcoming titles. If this is true, we could see Fallout 5 arrive before 2030.

With Bethesda also hard at work on its other highly-anticipated title The Elder Scrolls 6, it remains to be seen how much of its workload they will share with Fallout 5 developers. However, this would be sped up even further if it were to team up with outside help.

For example, Fallout: New Vegas’ Obsidian Entertainment could be a prime candidate. However, this is just speculation and nothing has yet been confirmed by Bethesda.
